Other Details: I bought this horn as a present to myself. It is incredibly light and easy to play yet has the great E Schmidt sound.
The horn is a single Bb with an F extension with built-in stopping valve, hand hammered bell, Schmid hand rest and a clever valve slide that lowers the horn from less than half a step to more than a step. This slide allows you to notes that are a problem on a single horn or to play that one low note in a Haydn concerto that you can't normally get on a single Bb,
The horn has been played professionally and has a couple of dings and little red on the unlacquered brass.
The bell on this horn is hand hammered without a kranz and is probably not suitable for every day playing as it is extremely delicate. If you want to play this horn every day you will likely want to replace the bell.
I am selling the horn because I have one kid in college and another starting this year.
The street price for this horn new is over $8000. I am offering this fine horn for $5000.
