Index of Articles Print

This online index of The Horn Call is in three parts.

Part One, encompassing Volumes I-XXV, 1971-1995, as well as The Horn Call Annual Numbers 1-6 (1989-1997), was compiled by Phillip Michael Sehmann and originally appeared on pages 18-60 of The Horn Call Annual Number 7 (1995), which volume also includes several additional indexes and useful cross-references. For the sake of space on this website, we present the contents of these issues with their original annotations. This clearly serves two functions here-- one, to provide this index electronically for research purposes, and two, to help those interested in obtaining specific back issues of our journals.

Part One, 1971-1995

Part Two of The Horn Call index was initially compiled by IHS member Harriet Fierman, to supplement the very large index also appearing on this website, taken from The Horn Call Annual 7 (1995) by Phillip Michael Sehmann. The major difference here is that this index of more recent issues is really only a list of contents (without annotations or subject reference) for further reference and guidance for researching and/or acquiring back issues of journals.

This index includes the contents for Volumes XXVI-XXXII (1995-2002) of The Horn Call, and Numbers 8 and 9 (the final two volumes, 1996 and 1997) of The Horn Call Annual and is updated annually, corresponding with annual indexes appearing in November issues of The Horn Call. While this is not a database, word searches work very well.

Happy hunting!

Part Two, 1995-2002

Harriet Fierman is to be thanked for creating an annual index to each volume of The Horn Call, which is printed in the October issue. Molly White then compiled and corrected these indices from 2002-2007 and added alternate spellings, where appropriate, for those searching the internet for specific titles.
