Other Details: ALL ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1941 C.G. CONN MODEL 6D DOUBLE HORN.

It's a Conn 6D from the time when this model was a professional level horn, like it's larger nickel silver companion, the Conn 8D, but constructed in yellow brass and with a slightly smaller bell. Construction details are difficult to depict in pictures, but the materials, workmanship, and quality of this horn is consistent with Conn's very best and quite different from the later 6D horns (still in production as a step-up model).

This particular horn is quite special, we think. We knew the long time owner (a semi-professional player, now deceased) and have known this horn since the late 1950's.

The horn has always had good care. Due to the owner's varied career path as a business man, horn player, and conductor, the horn wasn't constantly in use. It's been stored away for several years and the family has now decided to part with it.

The valves have been rebuilt (nickel plated) at sometime in the past, have good compression, and function well.
