Name: Michael B.
City: Boston
State: MA
Country: USA
Condition: Excellent
Other Details: A really special horn. Horns by Daniel Rauch have been prized for years, but even more so now that he has retired from horn making. These descant horns are the rarest of the rare. I don't know how many he made, but I do know that I've only ever seen two of them in my lifetime.

Daniel Rauch's strength seems to be taking existing designs and perfecting them. For his double horns, he used a standard Geyer-style design and for this descant he used a format based on the Alexander 107 descant. Other than the addition of an extra tuning slide on the Bb side and some different bracing, the basic airflow is identical, but of course this is a Rauch, so it plays like a dream.

The horn is in unlacquered yellow brass with a gold brass bell flare. It is also equipped with 4 joy keys which should make water dumping almost unnecessary.

A rare opportunity to own a very rare and special horn.
