Other Details: This is a collectible Josef Lidl yellow brass / mechanical rotary valve alto horn in Eb that dates from the years prior to World War 1. Lidl wind instrument manufacturing was started in Brno (then, Czechoslovakia) now the Czech Republic in the year 1892 and the company has a long and storied history as a brass instrument manufacturer. This antique alto horn is in good condition with some signs of dent raising in a few spots but it is in otherwise good shape and is still playable. The Lidl bell medallion is clearly readable and there is a beautifully stamped silver bell kranz that gives the horn a very nice, velvety tone. The horn comes with a vintage trombone mouthpiece because the mouthpipe receiver is larger than usual but the horn may also be played with a standard horn mouthpiece and mouthpiece shank adapter. I purchased the horn from a collector in Germany back in the early 2000’s and have used it for German band playing and an occasional TubaChristmas event.
Extras: Buyer pays shipping/insurance. I accept VENMO and PayPal - sorry no play trials and the sale is final. Thanks for looking!
