Other Details: From the estate of Don Schroeder, a genuinely wonderful surprise: an Alexander compensating descant horn, model 107S; numerous upgrades by Walter Lawson.

This model is no longer in production; the horn is quite a good design, but it had some stuffiness and ergonomic issues. Walt Lawson built a new lead pipe for it which opens the sound and is also more comfortable in the hands. He reconfigured the levers for a better feel, made some other tweaks, and re-lacquered it—looks brand new and is ready to play! While it is a specialty horn, the price makes it a great entry-level descant, but it’s also a phenomenal player. Someone will really love this very fine piece of German engineering.

The family would prefer in-person testing and purchase in south-central Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg (easy travel from interstate highways I-83, I-76, and I-81).
