Other Details: Pro Horn player/ teacher is selling a GREAT Holton Farkas double French Horn- a model H278 in yellow brass. It has a detachable bell for ease of compact traveling. This model is similar to the H179/ H180, but the medium bell allows for a more direct sound that responds quicker and easier. This one has a nice warm, velvety tone quality with nice clear edges to attacks. This horn was manufactured just a few years ago. It works and plays perfectly! It is clean and ready to play. The valves and slides all move with ease. New strings and bumpers on the valves. Tip-top, playing condition! Cosmetically, there are scattered tiny dings and small scratches on the bell and bell branch. The bell screws on and off smoothly. Centering pitches is a breeze; it is easy to hit the right notes. Scales are good throughout all ranges. The low register is very open and plays freely! I played on this same model all the way through college in Horn Performance. A fantastic instrument to progress with: the capabilities are endless
Extras: 1. ProTec detachable bell case (very protective)
2. Holton MDC mouthpiece
