Other Details: Elkhart Conn 6d double F/Bb French horn, often called the Stagliano model, after Jimmy Stagliagno, principal horn in the New York Philharmonic. The main difference between this 6D and the previous 6D model (the "Schmidt" model) is that the "Stagliano" 6D has a rotary change valve for F-Bb, while the "Schmidt" 6D had a piston change valve. Unlacquered yellow brass. Great condition with original case and Bach mouthpiece. Post-war Elkhart gem in superior condition - smooth slides, great compression, speedy valves, solid solder joints. Serial # dates it from 1946. Local test-play in Miller Place preferred but will ship. A rare find.
