| POSITION: TEACHING SUPPORT ASSISTANT available to assist and perform with university bands, beginning August, 2012. One-year appointment, renewable for a second year based on maintenance of School of Music standards |
DUTIES: Assist University Bands staff in the operation of all band activities, including but not limited to office assistance, attendance of ensembles, grading assistant, and other instructional support services as needed. Student must be enrolled in the university’s wind ensemble each semester of residency.
STIPEND: Tuition waiver (value: $5060/year in-state, $10,121/year out-of-state), plus $920.00/month for eight months' employment, totaling $7,360. Total value: $12,420/year in-state, $17,481/year out-of-state
DEGREE: Preferred: enrolment in Master of Music in Performance
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Music and admission to the Graduate School.
APPLICATION: Interested applicants must audition/interview on campus if possible; otherwise, a Skype interview must be arranged. Also, a recording of the applicant must be submitted demonstrating both technical and expressive abilities. Before the assistantship can be considered, applicant must have applied and been accepted by the Graduate School. Applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis until the position is filled.
