Teaching Experience
Erin teaches horn privately as well as horn sectionals for schools. Erin is currently in her training for becoming an Alexander Technique teacher. Alexander Technique is a technique that helps people understand how to work with their physiological design to prevent injuries from playing their instruments. She incorporate the principle of Alexander Technique in her lessons so that students learn how to breath better and how to play the horn with more ease and freedom. It allows students to discover their full potential when they are playing without the unnecessary excess tension in their body.
Erin's teaching philosophy is teaching through encouragement and positive reinforcement. Erin believes every student is unique and she teaches by building on what they already do well and know. A fun and safe environment are always provided in lessons, so students get to fully express their creativity in music making.
