Overview
The Utah State University Music Department seeks a dynamic artist-teacher of French horn. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position.
Review of applications begins November 15, 2023, and continues until filled. The position start date is August 2024.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include recruiting, teaching, and administration of the horn studio; coordinating and conducting appropriate brass master classes; and assisting in the instrumental performance, band, and music education programs. Other duties might include conducting as part of the band faculty, participation in the music education program, and teaching additional courses that correspond to the strengths of the successful applicant and departmental needs.
Qualifications
Doctorate or master’s degree in Music with significant professional experience at the national/international levels. Candidates within one year of completion of DMA may be initially hired at the rank of Instructor, and moved to the rank of Assistant Professor the following academic year after completion of the degree. The successful candidate will be an accomplished teacher and performing musician with an engaging teaching manner and outstanding interpersonal skills.
