|Summary || |
The Music Department is looking for a one-year lecturer to teach applied horn lessons, pedagogy and literature classes, master classes, and chamber music. Additional teaching assignments could include music core courses depending on candidate’s qualifications and needs of the department.
Participate in brass area duties, such as auditions, juries, and recruiting. Create and maintain a productive learning environment for students. Organize community outreach activities such as workshops and clinics. Maintain career as a recognized performer and educator.
|Required Qualifications || |
Graduation from an accredited institution with a masters degree or artist diploma in horn performance required.
|Knowledge, Skills and Abilities || |
- Knowledge of the principles and methodology of horn performance and pedagogy.
- Proven skills as an accomplished teacher and performer.
- Skills in recruiting outstanding students.
- Ability to develop curriculum and teach assigned courses.
- Ability to engage students in learning and performing opportunities on campus and in the community.
- Ability to communicate (written and oral) with a wide variety of students, faculty and others.
|Preferred Qualifications || |
Graduation from an accredited institution with a doctorate in horn performance. Experience teaching horn performance in higher education.

Work is normally performed in a typical classroom/office work environment.
