Bill’s write-up on the Holton H100: The H-100 was a hand-build horn from the OPUS series produced during the mid 1980’s. No actual date of production is available for this horn. Very few H-100 models were built and sold. This horn came from the Holton prototype shop. The H-100 has hand fitted and lapped phosphor bronze rotors with gold plated ports (to resist corrosion). Solid nickel bearings ground and fitted. Precision hinged, articulated, short stroke valve key levers with reversible 4th lever. Gold plated inside leadpipe (Holton says to reduce corrosion, enhance playing by moving air and stimulating airwaves to move effortlessly through the interior). Nickel silver large throat hand hammered detachable bell. New design forth valve vertical slide and vertical F slide. Two, in-line water keys (one on the leadpipe and the other on the F main branch
