Other Details: On Trial - 11/26. A rare find, this is a vintage 1960s Knopf Model 16 double in yellow brass - one of the most copied designs today! ALL the notes on both sides of the horn are exactly where you expect them to be with a glorious high Bb and the valves are super smooth and lightning fast (string action all the way)!
This Knopf went through a well-executed complete cosmetic overhaul in Europe including bell cut (Schmid ring set), corpus and bell re-plating/re-lacquering before it crossed the Atlantic. Here in the U.S. the valves were rebuilt in 2018 by Landress Brass in NYC where it has been professionally maintained. The horn has been played professionally in chamber music and orchestral ensembles. There are many, many years left in this wonderful horn!
The interesting provenance of this horn includes a stint as an instrument belonging to The Städt Orchester Düsseldorf (City Orchestra of Düsseldorf. Play tests available! Serious buyers ONLY. Thanks.
ADSMANAGER_EXTRAS: Recent complete valve overhaul! Just returned from annual servicing. Alexander Hand Strap
3 Leadpipes (Felix Cantesanu Knopf pipe currently mounted, also included is an Elemental Brass #1 pipe by John Gough & Original Knopf) the pipes alone would cost over $1500 if purchased separately.
