Since 1970, The International Horn Society (IHS) has been a community of people from around the world drawn together by a mutual interest in the horn. Our mission is to continue to connect artists of all ages and backgrounds across the world, and to promote horn playing, education and fellowship through events, publications, awards, and new compositions. Membership Dues
- Electronic Membership: $40/year
- Unlimited access to members only portions of the website, such as special features, historic audio, “Tips From a Pro” videos on orchestral excerpts, and more
- Unrestricted access to all past Horn Call issues since 1971
- Access to and support of our Awards and Competitions
- Support of Horn players in countries where economic conditions prevent membership through the Friendship Project
- Access to funding and support for the commissioning of new works for Horn through the Meir Rimon Commissioning Assistance Grants
- Access to regional workshop assistance grants that support hosts of regional workshops
- Access to our Thesis Lending Library
- Networking opportunities with thousands of Horn players worldwide
- Student Electronic Membership (under age 27): $32/year
- All privileges of an Electronic Membership (see above), at a discounted rate to make IHS membership more accessible for those pursuing education and a career on the horn
- Regular Membership: $65/year
- All privileges of an Electronic Membership (see above), plus receive The Horn Call journal in the mail
You may start your membership with the IHS at any time of the year. Publications are mailed Bulk Rate in the US and International Surface Airlift outside the US. Please note that membership and mailing information for the mailing of The Horn Call is sent to our publisher in the fourth week of January, April and September for the February, May and October issues, respectively.*
* Changes made and new memberships created after those dates will take effect with the following issue. Claims for missing issues cannot be honored 6 months after shipping.
