Sicilian Horn Ensemble:
The group of horns "Sicilian Horn Ensemble" was officially born after several concerts in 2013 and consists of horn players professionals and students from various parts of Sicily. Some of them work with the best Italian institutions including: the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Accademia della Scala, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. The purpose of the group is to raise awareness of the versatility of the French horn, very difficult instrument with a wide range of tone colors (from hunting to romantic) and a large area more than four octaves. The peculiarity of the horn sound is very soft and romantic and in orchestra is the meeting point between the various families of all the tools, it is located in a variety of chamber ensembles: brass quintet, wind quintet, quintet 'arches, trio, septet, octet, and so on. Mozart wrote 4 horn concertos soloist and orchestra, and many other great composers dedicated to this instrument large and important musical pages, just think of Rossini, Bellini, Strauss, Wagner, Mahler, etc. The great Schumann said: "The horn is the soul of the orchestra"
Recently the group has been invited to the International Festival "Luci della Ribalta" by the Association Mozart Italy Terni with great success by audiences and critics.
