Teaching Specialties
The focus of my teaching is to provide a strong technique foundation while adapting to the specific needs and goals of the individual student. Whether they are playing for fun, trying out for all-state, or hoping to enter the music profession, I always work with the goal of equipping students with the resources they will need to succeed. My university students have gone on to successful careers in music. My private students have been selected as members of All-State ensembles in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico and many have also gone on to study music at the college level. But there is space for students just playing for fun too, and many younger players as well as adult players have found lessons a rewarding way to challenge themselves and grow their musicianship.
