Energetic and positive horn teacher looking for enthusiastic horn students!

My approach to both musical coaching and technical instruction are based in an open mind. Our lessons will include performances by both of us, duets, discussions, and massive amounts of constructive information sharing.

Coaching topics include playing with intention, helping you determine what YOUR musical ideas are, Fearless Performance. Technical instruction is focused on template ideas on tone, articulation, and phrasing development. We will build for you a habit-forming practice routine and also build strong practice skills.

It is my goal to equip my students with a diverse "tool belt". You spend 95% of the time on your horn without me, so YOU are actually your teacher of most influence. Your tool belt will be full of ways to do things, how to approach learning something new, and most importantly, great reminders why you are practicing and performing music!

You will learn how to make good musical decisions before playing, how to hear your sounds and constructively influence them while playing, and how to keep what works and replace what does not.

You will learn to play the horn, make music, and to creatively solve projects that produce wonderful results! I love what I do, so please come have a lesson and you or your child might too.

Beginners, Intermediate Grades, Advanced Grades, Diploma / Higher Levels, Adult Beginners

I charge $40/hour for teaching in my home, $50/hour in the students' home within 15 miles of my zip code.

If a horn student 18 years or younger is enthusiastic but cannot afford horn lessons due to his or her parents' income being at or below the poverty level, I will gladly teach 2 lessons per month pro bono (free of charge).
