- Details
from Daren Robbins, creator of hornexcerpts.org:
I am thrilled to announce that, starting today, hornexcerpts.org has a new home on the website of the International Horn Society. In the eleven years since its launch hornexcerpts.org has been an important resource in the study of orchestral horn excerpts and one of the most popular horn-related websites on the internet. Although hornexcerpts.org now resides on the IHS website it can be accessed with the same address. Simply type “hornexcerpts.org” into your web browser and you will be taken to the new and improved site. The IHS is the perfect home for this website. It has the mission and the resources, and its staff has the technological know-how to keep hornexcerpts.org a relevant and beneficial learning tool for for many generations of horn students to come.

Schubert Adagio Added to OMS
- Details
Schubert’s Adagio from the Arpeggione Sonata, D. 821, in a transcription by Steve Lewis, has been added to the IHS Online Music Sales. In the words of the arranger: "After first hearing the Adagio from Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata I knew I must arrange it for horn and piano. The breathtaking lyricism of Schubert's melodies and the Horn are a perfect match. While many of us wish Schubert had left us a Horn sonata maybe this arrangement can help fill the void."
