The International Horn Society (IHS) is proud to partner with local hosts around the globe who wish to present various programs that bring hornists together, generally referred to here as "regional workshops." Two different applications are available here:
- U.S. Regional Workshop Host Application: Those who wish to host an officially-sanctioned U.S. Regional Workshop (representing one of the six U.S. Regions) must apply and agree to the terms specified before approval can be issued.
- Worldwide Regional Workshop Assistance Grant Application: The IHS will, as funds allow, support regional horn workshops and horn events worldwide with grants of up to US$200 for a one-day workshop, and up to US$500 for a two- or three-day workshop. Funds are awarded as requests are received, so early application is recommended. Any workshop host worldwide may apply for a Regional Workshop Assistance Grant, provided they are a member of the IHS.
Information on these programs and application processes is available in the pdf IHS Regional Workshop Handbook. (546 KB) Applications are made online, and are accessible only to current, logged-in IHS members.
Brent Shires is available to assist regional workshop hosts worldwide in the planning of future events. He collects advice, sample materials, and other information from those who have hosted regional workshops, and will send copies upon request. Brent is happy to consult with prospective or current hosts regarding any aspect of workshop hosting. Contact him at:
